Typical Fan Microaggressions That #POCs Deal With All The Time

"I don't think people who "white-wash" are being white supremacist Jesus you act like people who use white FC [faceclaims] are the freaking KKK Please calm your tits and or balls because this is ROLEPLAY, Okay?!?!?!?! By calling people out on their "white-washing" you're not changing the world."

This is about roleplaying on a social media site and what image someone uses to create their character, also called a faceclaim. It is unknown if this individual is a person of color (POC), but it seems he or she is angry about making some character white when they are not. Unsure what the complaint is about.

People are free to use what every faceclaim (image of their character) they want, however in this microagression complaint it seems to come from a casual privilege that disparages people of color faceclaims and/or characters. That is unfortunate and puts a bad taste in fellow roleplay partners and the social media.

What does this have to do with Star Wars? POC fans of Star Wars who roleplay encounter this ALL THE TIME!

Edited to add:

Whitewashing as described on Know Your Meme regarding the movie Frozen and the ethnicity of the Sami Scandinavian people. The social justice bloggers are saying that one of the main characters, Elsa would appear like this if Disney were to be accurate about the geography.

@SamuelLJackson = Mace Windu and a BAMF!

Need anything be say more?

Personally, he should have gotten some stuff and we have an entire story behind that. He had to have known that Anakin got some, so why he couldn't he? Hell Sidious got some. Everybody got some, but Mace Windy. It must blow that he got none.

Bai Ling played Senator Bana Breemu who was cut for posing in Playboy

Bai Ling has always been a sultry woman performing in many different movies. Her landing a role in Star Wars Revenge of the Sith movie as Senator Bana Breemu brought her to lore status, until they removed her scenes due to the Playboy cover.

The deleted scenes on the DVD and Blue-Ray shows Ms Ling's performance. What is sad is a woman of color playing a very powerful role getting cut from the movie because she was too provocative. That her sensual look was too much to bear for a "kids movie" at the time and would overshadow the story.  The executives thought there would be too much cross over from adult content to the movie, but in 2005 there were worse things occurring - Afghanistan and Iraq.

Watching a woman's form in an dress that does not reveal much and she is on the cover of Playboy does not mean she must be cut from a movie.

Basically, they slut shamed.

Anna May Wong very famous Chinese American Actress - they need to make up for what they stereotyped her for.

Happy Birthday Anna May Wong!   (January 3rd, 1905 - February 3rd, 1961)
She called herself The Woman of a Thousand Deaths because her screen characters — racist stereotypes of dragon ladies, prostitutes, and jilted mistresses — inevitably died, and she left Hollywood when the lead Chinese female role in the big budget production of “The Good Earth” went to a white woman with her eyes taped (for which she won an Oscar). Yet Anna May Wong lives on, on film, in pictures, on paper, a Chinese American pioneer who used not only her beauty but her voice and her written words to speak out for herself and her people.
